Xenophobia: Stanbic IBTC, MTN, Dstv, Shoprite may be taken over
As the diplomatic wrangling between Nigeria and South Africa escalates following murder and attacks on Nigeria, many of the companies originating from the latter are now at risk in Nigeria.
The ruling APC has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to take over these multinationals.
Rising from a meeting its National Working Committee meeting in Abuja Thursday night, the party made it know to the federal government to takeover of Shoprite, MTN, DSTV and other South African businesses.
The party further requested the revocation of licenses of banks owned by the South Africans.
Since the report of the recent attacks on Nigeria in the Rainbow nation, Nigerians have been reacting n retaliation by destroying the offices of some of these multinationals, includig MTN , Shoprite, and Dstv.
