Lai Mohammed denies FG investigation of Jonathan and wife

The Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed has come out to deny knowledge of any investigation being conducted into the alleged involvement of former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience in the spate of bombings by Niger Delta Avengers across Nigeria’s oil pipeline facilities.

The minister said: “These allegations have refused to go away and those making the allegations are not backing out. So I will not be surprised if the security agencies show interest in it but I am not aware.”

Earlier today, report surfaced that a new intelligence report linked Jonathan to the spate of bombings by Niger Delta Avengers.

The new security report indicated that the federal government had launched an investigation on the possible involvement of Jonathan in the spate of bombings in the Niger Delta region that has crippled the country’s oil industry and affected power generation capabilities.

A splinter group, Reformed Niger Delta Avengers had accused the ex-president of being one of the sponsors of the Niger Delta militants.

The Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta had always fingered the ex-president of having ties with militants.

However, President Jonathan has denied his involvement and have also accused MEND of plotting to assassinate him.
