2023: Ahead of Jonathan’s defection, Wike blows hot
Rivers Gov. Nyesom Wike and his PDP are all nerves as a gale of defection hit the party, and rumours of former President Goodluck Jonathan hopping into APC thickens.
Arguably the hammer man of the opposition arty, Wike has reveaed what he will do shuld Jonahan heeds the open-door invitation to come and pick the APC presidential ticket in 2023.
“It is not about ethnicity for me, but about the party,” he told the BBC Pidgin Service.
Wike and Jonathan are from the south-south.
“If he is APC, I won’t support him because I’m not into that kind of politics,” he said.
“To pick ticket means you’re representing the interest of a party. I’m in PDP and I will not be involved in anti-party activities.”
Jonathan has denied the rumour.
But it becomes difficult for many Nigerians to take the PDP politicians for their words.
Femi Fani-Kayode and PDP’s operative defected to the AC September 16.
He even got a presidential welcome party form President Muhammadu Buhari criticized and hated for six years.
FFK said more PDP governors will soon swarm into the APC.
