2023: Igbokwe reacts as Tinubu and his wife, Remi, step out to celebrate his 70th birthday
It is no longer news that former Lagos governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is now 70-years-old.
To mark the grand occasion, a novelty match was organized in honor of the self-styled National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
The colorful event, which had top dignitaries, supporters, and ex-Nigerian footballers in attendance, was the talk of the town over the weekend.
The game saw ex-Super Eagles Internationals such as Taribo West, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, and Kanu Nwankwo, square up against Team Asiwaju which was led by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa.
While many aspects of the occasion drew reactions from political observers around the country, there was one moment that was pointed out by the Special Adviser to the Lagos State Governor on Drainage and Water Resources, Chief Joe Igbokwe.
Taking to his Facebook page, Igbokwe shared a picture showing the moment Asiwaju and his wife, Senator Remi Tinubu, stepped out in sporting outfits in preparation for the novelty match organized in his honor.
In his post, the APC Chieftain referred to Asiwaju and his wife as “the President and the First Lady”, an expression of his utmost belief that the former Lagos Governor, who is currently in the race for the presidency, will emerge victorious at the polls in 2023.
