Information Minister Lai Mohammed announced the sack of six directors-general in the ministry of information during a meeting with CEOs of parastatals in the ministry.
Those who got the axe, according to a statement issued by Segun Adeyemi, special assistant to the minister, are the directors-general of NTA, Mr. Sola Omole; FRCN, Mr. Ladan Salihu; VON, Mr Sam Worlu; NOA, Mr. Mike Omeri; NBC, Mr. Emeka Mba; Ima Niboro, NAN.
“The Minister directed the disengaged chief executives to hand over to the most senior officials in their various establishments. He thanked them for their service to the nation and wished them the best of luck in their future endeavours.” The statement added.
Many had expected the removal of the DGs earlier than this, going by the anti-Buhari sentiment they allowed to pervaded the agencies during the 2015 presidential election campaign.
