Army rescue 14 women, 17 children from Boko Haram hostage
The Nigerian Army has revealed that the operations in the northeast have rescued 31 persons comprising 14 women and 17 children from Boko Haram terrorists in Bama Local Government Area, Borno State.
The Army Operations Media Coordinator, Col. Aminu Iliyasu, in a statement on Monday disclosed that the troops killed many Boko Haram terrorists while several others escaped with gunshot wounds during the encounter.
Colonel Iliyasu narrated that the combined troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE also uncovered a Boko Haram enclave at Malam Fatori in Abadam Local Government Area and engaged the terrorists at the enclave.
Two AK47 rifles, two AK47 rifle magazines loaded with 30 rounds of special ammunition and three un-exploded mortar bombs were among ammunition taken from the militants’ enclave, he said.
