COVID-19: Bayelsa Governor tests negative, orders grade levels 1-12 workers to stay at home
Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State on Thursday tested negative to coronavirus, dispelling fears of infection after the 36 governors had met with the Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari, Abba Kyari, who tested positive to coronavirus on his return from Germany and Egypt. The presidency is currently struggling with efforts for the treatment of the Chief of Staff to the president.
Meanwhile, Governor Diri has ordered Civil Servants from Grade Level 1 to 12 in Bayelsa to stay-at-home to avert the spread of coronavirus in the state.
At an emergency press briefing in Yenagoa, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health disclosed that more decisions were taken after Governor Douye Diri met with the expanded multi-sectoral task force on the Coronavirus pandemic.
