Obasanjo, Jonathan, other African leaders form alliance for peace in Africa
African leaders have formed an alliance under the aegis of West Africa Elders Forum Initiated by the “Goodluck Jonathan Foundation Peace Initiative For West Africa”, with a mandate to restoring peace, promote good governance and development in the African continent.
The African leaders at a consultative virtual meeting endorsed the inauguration of the West Africa Elders Forum, an initiative of the “Goodluck Jonathan Foundation Peace Initiative for West Africa”.
The meeting of the former African Presidents and Heads of State deliberated on the rising insecurity, economic crisis, and election conflicts in Africa.
On the inauguration of the West Africa Elders Forum, the African leaders expressed determination for collective action towards promoting development and strengthen bonds for a United Africa.
The consultative virtual meeting was attended by Nigeria’s former presidents, Dr. Olusegun Obasanjo, and Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, including the former President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, former President of Sierra Leone, Ernest Bai Koroma, and Nigeria’s former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar.
The Council raises new hope for the African continent in the 21st century.
