After driving, Osinbajo gives verdict on made-in-Nigeria electric car
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo gunned Kona some distance, came out and gave his verdict on the electric car, the first to be assembled in Nigeria exhibited at the Made-in-Nigeria Fair in Abuja on Tuesday.
“It was a very good drive, fantastic. It just shows what is possible. I am glad to see that this is an assembled-in-Nigeria electric car,” he said, according to a statement from his media aide Laolu Akande.
“You can literally charge it anywhere. I think it is a very fantastic innovation; fantastic product, and I can tell because I just drove it.”
He described the innovative car as a showcase of what is possible in Nigeria.
In the car the V.P test-drove were Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo and Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr Jelani Aliyu.
Other dignitaries at the event which is part of Nigeria’s 60th anniversary celebration include the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr. Boss Mustapha, Ministers of FCT, Mallam Mohammed Bello; and Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed.
Last week, ITF Mobile, Nigeria-made mobile phone was also presented to President Muhammadu Buhari.
