The embattled National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Uche Secondus, may have been displaced by the acting National Chairman, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, as the PDP holds 40th meeting of the national caucus of the Party on Friday. The meeting currently ongoing at the National Secretariat of the party has in attendance the acting National Chairman Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, who announced that he has been served with a court order on Secondus but did not give details of the court order.
Prince Secondus had got a fresh court order reinstating him as PDP National chairman from a State High Court in Kebbi.
The acting National Chairman, Elder Yemi Akinwonmi, acknowledging a court order he received, told participants that the meeting will discuss issues raised in court order.
Governor Aminu Tambuwal, Chairman of the PDP Governors Forum, briefed the party’s caucus that the governors are working together for the benefit of the party and the country. The Sokoto governor affirmed that the challenges in the PDP are surmountable.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar was identified to be in attendance, including former Senate Presidents David Mark and Bukola Saraki, PDP governors, former governors and lawmakers.
Atiku promised that the caucus meeting will be guided by maturity and intelligence in its deliberations, expressing optimism that the PDP will emerge stronger from the current crisis.
