ISWAP distributes fliers in Borno, warns citizens
Feeling the damage the federal troops is inflicting on it by using human intelligence communities supply, ISWAP is making effort to end the growing relationship between the Nigerian armed forces and the citizens.
In a warning printed in fliers, and distributed at markets in Borno, the group is warning citizens to stop telling on the terrorists, according to a report by HumAngle.
The content of the fliers is entitled “A message from the caliphate’s troops to the people of a new town.”
ISWAP is also aiming for the hearts and mind of the communities by telling them the Nigerian Army, the real enemies, forced the villagers out of their homes.
“We were not the ones who chased you out of your place from the beginning,” one of the messages in the fliers read.
“These people who call themselves the Nigerian Army are the ones who chased you out, killed you, and are the wicked ones.”
The federal troops have been hitting hard the terrorists, especially since the deadlier faction, Boko Haram, lost its leader Abu Shekau months ago.
No fewer than 5000 terrorists have surrendered so far, according to the military.
