Fulani herder sells contaminated beef to butchers in Kwara
A herder from Kogi passed pieces of beef to two butchers in Kwara, and they were about to hit the market when operatives of the NSCDC arrested them.
Spokesman of the defence corps, Babawale Zaid Afolabi, disclosed this in a statement in Ilorin.
According to him, Bashiru Bala Zuru and Nawali Bala were arrested in Patigi, Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State.
Both confessed during interrogation that the beef was brought by one Fulani herder Dantani Jayewu, now at large, who lives in Okoloke, Kogi.
Afolabi added that further checks by the state ministry of environment and public health confirmed that the beef was unhealthy for human consumption.
The suspects would be charged to court after completion of investigations.
