Evans’ accomplice Arinze dies of HIV in prison
An accomplice of suspected billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike aka Evans, died in prison custody on Friday, two days to their next appearance I court
Chiemeka Arinze’s medical records indicated he had been suffering from advanced HIV.
Arinze, Evans, Joseph Emeka, and Udeme Upong have been standing trial for the attempted kidnap of the Chairman of the Young Shall Grow Motors, Vincent Obianodo, before Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of an Ikeja Special Offences Court.
They are facing seven-count charge of murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit kidnapping, attempt to kidnap and sale and transfer of firearms.
Arinze,45, died on Friday, November 26, 2021 as a result of cardiopulmonary arrest.
According to sources, Arinze, who has been sick for some time, was rushed from the Kirikiri custodial Centre to a general hospital on Friday where he died.
His medical records, signed by D. Salisu B. E, confirmed his advanced HIV status.
