Ukraine army fighting Russian forces outside Kyiv
The army of Ukraine on Friday declared they are fighting Russian forces in the north of Kyiv, resisting the invading Russia army from taking over the country’s capital.
Video of the penetration of Kiev by Russian forces, driving armoured tanks deep into Kiev trends on social media on Friday, indicating the advancement of the Russian forces adjacent to Kyiv on Friday. The government had stated that the city was hit by “horrific rocket strikes” in the early hours of Friday after the military operations which commenced on Thursday.

Kyiv military authorities stated on Facebook that “Airborne assault troops of the Ukrainian armed forces are fighting in the areas of the settlements of Dymer and Invankiv.”
Dymer is about 45 kilometres (28 miles) north of Kyiv, while Ivankiv is about 60 kilometres northwest of the capital of Ukraine. The Ukrainian military declared that they have stopped Russian forces at the Teteriv River, a tributary of the Dnieper River that flows through Kyiv, from advancing further, revealing that they have destroyed a bridge on that route to the capital.
The army further said they have recaptured the Gostomel airfield, which was captured by Russian forces on Thursday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Friday banned all men from 18 years to 60 from fleeing the country, insisting that as the war gets tougher, citizens will be given guns to defend the country.
Russia had launched airstrike, sea and ground battle to invade Ukraine from the north, east and west.
