Gunmen hit Anambra Broadcasting Service
The insecurity situation in Anambra State has continued to escalate daily. The police on Monday revealed that gunmen struck at the Anambra Broadcasting Service in the early hours of the day.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu, disclosing the attack in a statement in Awka, on Monday morning, narrated that the gunmen hit the broadcasting station at about 4.30am in Awada, Idemili North Local Government Area.
The PPRO added that the Command on receiving complaints of the attack, urgently deployed a team of operatives to confront the gunmen.
The PPRO had highlighted in the statement: “Following a distress call today 30/5/2022 at about 4.30 am of a case of arson in Anambra Broadcasting Service, Awada Station, in Idemili North Local Government Area, the police operatives responded swiftly and prevented the hoodlums from causing damage on the structure.
“Unfortunately, two operational vehicles belonging to the station were affected. No life was lost. Meanwhile, the station has been cordoned off and Operation is still ongoing in the area.”
