Nigerian military to partner with Ukraine in technology, equipment

The Nigerian Military on Wednesday has expressed its readiness to partner with the Ukrainian government in the areas of Military technology and equipment.
The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Abayomi Gabriel Olonisakin made this known when the Ambassador of Ukraine to Nigeria, Dr. Valerii Aleksandruk visited him at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The CDS noted that it is the policy of Nigeria to deal directly with governments of countries where it has any interest and promised to study the business proposal submitted by the Ambassador on behalf of Ukrainian companies and take stock of areas of interest to the military.
Ambassador Aleksandruk on his part , commended the already existing Nigeria-Ukraine bilateral relationship and asked for it to be further strengthened especially in the areas of military and education.
While submitting a business proposal to the CDS, the diplomat disclosed the readiness of Ukrainian companies which produces military hardware to make presentations to the Nigerian Armed Forces on equipment that will help Nigeria in its fight against terrorism.
He said the companies were ready to transfer some technology to Nigeria and make it a hub to West Africa and other African countries.
