Protests erupts in Abuja

Several applicants for land allocation in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Monday took to the streets of the FCT protesting the federal government in allocating the lands. The protesters, identifying themselves as “Victims of NLC/TUC Good homes” are agitating the failure of the federal government to allocate portions of land to them after 10 years they have made payments.

The protesters displaying placards with several inscriptions to convey their grievances, requested the government to explain the reason for the delay in the allocation of land to them after years of payment.

They called for urgent intervention of the federal government and other relevant authorities, including the FCT authorities.
