Niger Republic denies receiving N1.2b from President Muhammadu Buhari
The President of Niger Republic, Mohamed Bazoum has denied receiving N1.2 billion from President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime.
According to Peoples Gazette, Nigerien President’s claim contradicted Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed’s statement concerning the alleged gift to Niger Republic.
Recall, few days ago, Ms Ahmed confirmed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s regime disbursed N1.2 billion to Niger Republic on August 3.
Report revealed that the Nigerien Minister of Defence, Alkassoum Indatou, rebutted President Muhammadu Buhari government’s claim, revealed further that, it was only Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle that gifted the Maradi region 5 Hilux Vans, which four of the vehicles have already been received by Nigerien government.
Peoples Gazette said, In February, the Buhari’s administration claimed to have contracted Kaura Motors Nigeria Limited, with Fidelity Bank, account number 4010638472, to purchase 10 Toyota Land Cruiser Jeeps for Niger Republic for N1.2 billion.
