Fighter jets bomb out armed bandits in repentant bandit leader home in Zamfara
An unconfirmed number of armed bandits belonging to the notorious Bello Turji camp have been bombed out of his home at Shinkafi, Zamfara.
The bandits were killed during a ‘surprise raid’ by the air assets of the Operation Forest Sanity in the state.
Based on credible intelligence, two fighter jets dropped the bombs, killing many in the Fakai area of the forest.
The federal troops have been carrying out counter-offensive against bandis in Zamfara, where the criminals have unleashed terror since 2019.
Turji, who has reportedly repented on a number of occasions and laid down his arms, is suspected to live in the area.
