Organised Labour intensifies protest, invade National Assembly
The Organised Labour, commencing mass protest on Wednesday, agitating the “anti-people” policies of President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government, led Nigerians to break down the first gate of the National Assembly (NASS) complex, invading the premises.
The protesters, proceeding to the second gate of the National Assembly, compelled the Senate into immediate closed-door session.
The Organised Labour, comprising the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Trade Union Congress (TUC), including oil and gas unions, and other affiliate unions, commenced mass protest in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, and other states including Lagos, Abia, Plateau, Kaduna, Kano, Rivers, Zamfara, Katsina, Cross River, Ebonyi, Enugu, Kwara, Ogun, Imo, Ondo, and Edo.
The protesters converged at the Unity Fountain, from there they proceeded to the National Assembly.
