First look at Funke Akindele's "A Tribe Called Judah"

Nigeria’s award-winning filmmaker, Funke Akindele, is set to release her new film, A Tribe Called Judah, which promises to be the ultimate holiday drama. Akindele recently shared behind-the-scenes footage of the production on her Instagram page, offering a sneak peek at what to expect.

The filmmaker revealed that the movie features an impressive cast of well-known faces in the Nigerian film industry, including Nse Ikpe Etim, Timini Egbuson, Jide Kene A, Nosa Rex, Genoveva Umeh, Uzor Arukewe, Olumide Owuru and Boma Akpore. Co-directed by Adeoluwa Owu and Akindele, with Barny Emordu as the Director of Photography, the movie wrapped up production after 35 days on August 11, 2023.

While no official synopsis has been released, the behind-the-scenes footage hints at the movie taking a trip back in time with its set design. Egbuson also shared an image of himself in a comical costume, suggesting that the movie will have some comedic moments.

Akindele thanked the cast and crew for their hard work, suggesting a December 2023 release date for the movie. Akindele’s production company, Funke Akindele Network (FAAN), produced the movie, marking their first project of the year since Battle on Buka Street in 2022.
