Edo Assembly serves impeachment notice on Dep Gov Shaibu
The Edo State House of Assembly on Wednesday issued an impeachment notice to Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu after the primary election of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the September 21 governorship election in the state.
National Daily Newspaper gathered that Governor Godwin Obaseki had purportedly sought the cooperation of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole to secure the support of the lawmakers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the State Assembly for the successful impeachment of the deputy governor.
Shaibu had organized a parallel primary election in the state where he emerged the winner, in defiance of the PDP official primary election after he was rejected by Governor Obaseki for the PDP ticket.
National Daily Newspaper will bring you further details in subsequent reports.
