Obi congratulates new leadership of Churches in Nigeria
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 general elections, Peter Obi, has congratulated new leaders of some Churches in Nigeria.
Obi emphasised that Churches, like other religious groups, have continued to play a very vital role in promoting peaceful coexistence in our multi-religious nation.
Churches, he noted, have continue to serve as the moral compass of the nation by spreading the gospel of love to all men and pricking our conscience, as leaders, to always do what is right.
He encouraged the newly elected church leaders to continue to lead the church in the fear of God while praying earnestly for our nation in distress.
According to Obi, @PeterObi
“I would like to heartily felicitate with new leadership of some Churches in Nigeria. The Church of the Brethren in Nigeria, known in Hausa as Ekklesiyar Yan’Uwa A Nigeria, EYN, is ably led by the new President of the denomination, Rev Dr Daniel Y. C. Mbaya and Rev James K. Musa, as the new General Secretary.
“I also wish to congratulate the newly elected president of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA, Rev. Job Bhagat, as he takes on the noble mantle of leadership in the church.
“Churches, like other religious groups, have continued to play a very vital role in promoting peaceful coexistence in our multi-religious nation. They continue to serve as the moral compass of the nation by spreading the gospel of love to all men and pricking our conscience, as leaders, to always do what is right.
“I encourage the newly elected church leaders to continue to lead the church in the fear of God while praying earnestly for our nation in distress.
“May God Almighty grant them wisdom and strength to lead the church on the right path for the good of the nation as One nation under God. -PO”
