President Tinubu swears in New Head of Civil Service, Didi Esther Walson-Jack
President Bola Tinubu has officially sworn in Didi Esther Walson-Jack as the new Head of Civil Service of the Federation. The ceremony took place on Monday before the Federal Executive Council meeting at the State House in Abuja.
Walson-Jack’s appointment, approved by President Tinubu on July 17, 2024, follows her tenure as the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education. She was appointed Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has since served in various ministries.
Walson-Jack succeeds Dr. Folasade Yemi-Esan, the outgoing Head of the Civil Service, who is set to retire on August 13, 2024.

Recall that President Tinubu approved the appointment of Walson-Jack as the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, on July 17, 2024.
Prior to her appointment, she was the permanent secretary of the Federal Ministry of Education.
She was appointed Federal Permanent Secretary in 2017 and has served in several ministries.
An earlier statement from the presidency had indicated that Walson-Jack takes over from the former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan, who is due to retire on August 13, 2024.
