Over 1,400 protesters languish in police custody following #EndBadGovernance Protests
Over 1,400 Nigerian youths who participated in the 10-day #EndBadGovernance protests are currently detained in police custody across the country.
This alarming revelation was made by Deji Adeyanju, a lawyer representing the protesters.
Adeyanju expressed concern over the protesters‘ well-being, stating that many are being held in harsh conditions and fed only once a day.
He also criticized the government for refusing to arraign the #EndBadGovernance protests protesters before a court of law, despite being detained for over two weeks.
Among those detained are three prominent activists: Adaramoye Lenin, Mosiu Sodiq, and Eleojo Opaluwa.

Their continued detention without charges has sparked outrage from civil society organizations, who accuse the government of suppressing dissent.

The detention of over 1,400 protesters highlights the government’s crackdown on dissent and raises concerns about the state of human rights in Nigeria.
