DSS invades SERAP office in Abuja, demands to see Directors
Agents from the Department of State Services (DSS) have conducted a raid on the Abuja office of the Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP).
According to reports, the officers were specifically seeking to meet with the organization’s directors.
SERAP, in a post on its X (formerly Twitter) account, described the situation as an unlawful occupation by the DSS and called on President Tinubu to intervene.

The organization urged the president to instruct the DSS to cease what it termed as “harassment, intimidation, and attacks on the rights of Nigerians.”
This raid comes shortly after the arrest of Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), by DSS operatives at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
The proximity of these two incidents raises concerns about the increasing pressure on civil society and labor organizations in the country.
