Hoodlums injure five Amotekun Operatives in Osun attacks
Five operatives of the Osun State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, sustained injuries following attacks by suspected hoodlums at their Awo Command in Egbedore Local Government Area on Friday, May 9th.
The initial incident stemmed from a report by the Oniwoye of Iwoye, Oba Adebusoye Oyebamiji, concerning an alleged unauthorised burial on community ancestral land.
Four Amotekun operatives were dispatched to investigate; however, the burial had already taken place by the time they arrived.
“The operatives tactically withdrew to the Awo Command to seek reinforcement. However, in a shocking turn of events, the hoodlums regrouped and staged a second attack on the Amotekun office in Awo,” Abass said in a Monday statement.
According to Amotekun Corps spokesperson Yusuf Idowu Abass, a known fugitive, Ismaila Aluko, appeared with armed accomplices and launched a violent attack on the initial team, resulting in injuries to the operatives.
Abass further stated that after the initial attack, the operatives retreated to their Awo Command for reinforcement.
In a surprising development, the hoodlums regrouped and launched a second assault on the Amotekun office itself.

This second attack reportedly occurred in the presence of officers from the Nigeria Police Force, an agent of the Department of State Services (DSS), and family members of the assailants.
The attackers allegedly attempted to disarm the Amotekun operatives, inflicting serious injuries in the process.
One operative suffered severe injuries, while four others sustained minor wounds.
All injured personnel were immediately taken to a medical facility for emergency treatment.
“This violent act represents a direct threat to the security and peace of our communities and will not be tolerated,” Abass declared.
He added that the Amotekun Corps is currently collaborating with other security agencies to apprehend and prosecute all individuals involved in the attacks.
