NECO releases 2024 SSCE results: pass rates up, malpractice down
The National Examinations Council (NECO) has released the results for the June/July 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), showing positive trends.
60.55% of candidates achieved five credits, including English Language and Mathematics, demonstrating a stronger grasp of core subjects.
83.90% of candidates secured five credits or more in various subjects, reflecting an overall improvement in academic performance.
30.1% reduction in exam malpractice cases compared to 2023 indicates a more disciplined examination environment.
40 schools identified for mass cheating will face disciplinary actions, including potential de-recognition for one school.

NECO Registrar, Professor Dantani Wushishi, commended the improvement in pass rates and the decline in malpractice cases.
He highlighted the Council’s efforts to create a more conducive examination environment.
However, NECO remains vigilant against cheating and will hold accountable those involved in malpractice.
