LG polls: Gov. Alia declares Friday work-free day
Alia made an important announcement in a statement given by his Chief Press Secretary Sir Tersoo Kula This statement was shared with members of the press in Makurdi on Thursday of this week
The governor mentioned that the purpose of the work-free day is to provide voters with a chance to go back to their local government areas where they are registered to vote. This opportunity is crucial for them so they can actively participate in the upcoming elections and make their voices heard
He highlighted how important it is for everyone to get involved in the electoral process by exercising their right to vote. Alia strongly encouraged all citizens to take this opportunity seriously and to utilize the work-free day to fulfill their civic responsibilities and contribute to the democratic process
Alia confidently stated that, with the appropriate level of commitment and active participation from all stakeholders involved, the upcoming LG polls would not only proceed smoothly but would also be conducted in a transparent, fair, and impartial manner, ensuring that the democratic process is upheld with integrity.
The governor went on to strongly encourage both public and private sector organizations across the region to actively support the election initiative by granting their employees the necessary time and resources to participate in the voting process, emphasizing that collective involvement is essential to the success of the elections.
He passionately called upon the citizens to place a high priority on maintaining peace and demonstrating a spirit of collaboration throughout the election period. In his appeal, he stressed the critical importance of unity and cooperation among all individuals and groups involved, reminding everyone that a harmonious approach is vital to ensuring a successful and credible electoral process.
