PDP Crisis: Makarfi floors Sheriff
Report reaching National Daily has it that the Supreme Court has struck out an application by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, asking the court not to hear the appeal of the Chairman of National Caretaker Committee of the party, Ahmed Makarfi.
Makarfi had a filed an appeal at the apex court to challenge the judgement of the Port Harcourt division of the appeal court which sacked his caretaker committee and affirmed Sheriff as chairman of the party.

The hearing of the matter was fixed for May 25.
Sheriff had filed the application on March 21 arguing that Makarfi’s faction was not recognised by the party and that he (Sheriff) as the legitimate chairman, did not authorise anyone to file an appeal on behalf of the party.
National Daily gathered that the Supreme Court in its ruling read by the Chief Justice of the Federation Justice Walter Onnoghen, said that, there is merit in the appeal and as such is deemed fit for hearing.
