Man docked over alleged theft of laptop, phone worth N480,000
Abdulmalik Auwalu, a 38-year-old man, was arraigned in a Kano Sharia Court on theft charges after allegedly stealing a laptop and cell phone worth N480,000. The case has been adjourned for mention on January 20.
A 38-year-old man, Abdulmalik Auwalu, was arraigned before a Sharia Court in Kano on Monday, facing charges of theft.
Auwalu, a resident of Sharada Quarters in Kano, is accused of stealing a laptop and cell phone valued at N480,000.
The charges were brought to light after the complainant, Yusuf Musa, a resident of Diso Quarters, reported the crime to the Gwale Police Station on January 3.
According to the Prosecutor, Insp. Abdullahi Wada, Auwalu allegedly broke into Musa’s shop around 9:00 p.m. on the same day and stole the items.

During the court session, Auwalu pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The presiding judge, Malam Umar Lawal-Abubakar, ordered that the defendant be remanded in a correctional center. The case was adjourned until January 20 for mention.
