Wife set self, husband ablaze over infidelity
Tragedy struck in Kano as a newly wedded woman with seven months old pregnancy set her husband and herself ablaze over alleged infidelity.
The woman was said to have lit a petrol keg in their No 54 Middle Road residence in the Sabon Gari area of the city, before exploding and immediately engulfed her and the husband.
The husband, identified as Emeka, who did not die on the spot, was taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention but was later confirmed dead by the doctor as a result of suffering severe burns from the fire.

National Daily gathered that the woman had accused her husband of infidelity, because she over heard her husband discussing with an unidentified lady over the telephone.
She was said to have immediately got angry and lit a keg of petrol which eventually exploded and engulfed their home.
Witness explained that the woman was burnt beyond recognition.
It was gathered that the couple were from Anambra State and they got married about five weeks ago.
The Kano State Police Spokesperson, DSP Musa Magaji Majiya, said “Men from the Command had commenced investigation to unravel the cause of the dispute.”
