Gbaramatu Kingdom mourns as funeral rites for Ma. Pinapina Otuaro announced

The families of Omula of Oporoza town and Ifitimo of Kokodiagbene town, both of Gbaramatu Kingdom, have formally announced the funeral rites of their revered matriarch, Ma. Pinapina Otuaro (née Omula).

According to a statement released by the bereaved families, a Service of Songs in her honor is scheduled for Wednesday, March 5, 2025, at Christ Embassy Central Church, Effurun.

Following the service, a musical tribute will take place, featuring performances by renowned Ijaw musicians Chief Barrister S. Smooth (The Paddale of Niger-Delta) and Emma Gray.

The funeral will also witness a special live performance by Ijaw music maestro, JKing Izon-Ebi, who is set to entertain guests during the funeral rites at Oporoza town.

As part of the cultural tradition of Gbaramatu Kingdom, a night party will be held at Oporoza on Friday, March 7, 2025, in honor of the late matriarch, with festivities expected to last through the night.

The children of the deceased, led by Kingsley Otuaro, the immediate past Deputy Governor of Delta State, extend an open invitation to friends, well-wishers, and members of the public to join them in paying their final respects to their beloved mother.

Ma. Pinapina Otuaro was widely regarded as a pillar of strength in her community, and her funeral is expected to attract dignitaries, traditional rulers, and notable personalities from across the Niger Delta and beyond.

The Otuaro and Omula families express their heartfelt appreciation for the outpouring of support and prayers during this time of mourning.
