Iran says US agreement possible, Demands end to coercion
Reaching an agreement with the United States is achievable. However, making that happen requires a fundamental condition that the American side refrains from the approach of coercion
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian stated that an agreement with the United States is attainable, provided Washington ceases its use of coercive tactics against Tehran.
Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with visiting Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim in Tehran, as reported by the president’s office.
“Reaching an agreement with the United States is achievable. However, making that happen requires a fundamental condition that the American side refrains from the approach of coercion,” Pezeshkian said regarding the ongoing indirect talks between Iran and the U.S.
In response, Al Thani voiced Qatar’s support for Iran’s rights and emphasized that “pressure and coercion had proven ineffective when dealing with Iran, as shown by experience.”
In a separate meeting with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, also in Tehran, Pezeshkian commended Oman’s “committed and constructive” role in facilitating the indirect talks between Iran and the United States.

He expressed hope that these discussions would lead to a fair agreement that ensures lasting stability in West Asia.
Oman has been instrumental in hosting four rounds of indirect talks between Iranian and U.S. delegations since April 12, focusing on Iran’s nuclear program and the lifting of U.S. sanctions. Three meetings were held in Muscat, Oman, and one in Rome, Italy.
