Oluwo of Iwo urges support for Tinubu’s second term
The Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has called on Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term, likening his leadership to the sacrifice of Prophet Ibraheem, which gave rise to the Eid el Kabir celebration.
Speaking during the 2025 Eid el Kabir prayers in Iwo, Osun State, the monarch said Tinubu is confronting long-avoided national challenges with bold reforms aimed at restoring Nigeria’s glory.
In a statement by his spokesperson, Ibrahim Alli, Oluwo said, “President Tinubu is making sacrifices for Nigeria’s future. His reforms, like the removal of fuel subsidy, are bold steps past leaders avoided.

He is laying the foundation for national greatness.” He described Tinubu as a “president of many firsts,” commending his courage in addressing economic realities and fighting entrenched systems that hinder progress.
“The reforms are working—wages are improving, food prices are stabilizing. He’s setting a new standard for leadership, and we must support him,” he said.
Oluwo urged Nigerians to rally behind the president and not be swayed by criticism or short-term hardship, “Let’s be agents of growth and progress. Support for Tinubu is support for Nigeria’s greatness.”
