Obi Cubana deletes pro-Tinubu posts amid growing criticism
Nigerian businessman and socialite Obi Cubana has reportedly removed all posts linked to the City Boy Movement from his Instagram page amid growing criticism from some Nigerians over his perceived support for the administration of President Bola Tinubu.
The development has sparked conversations across social media platforms after users noticed that content associated with the pro-Tinubu political group was no longer visible on the entrepreneur’s verified account.
Obi Cubana had previously been announced as the South-East Coordinator of the City Boy Movement, a political advocacy platform aligned with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The businessman’s involvement with the group had attracted mixed reactions online, with supporters praising his participation in youth mobilisation efforts while critics accused him of openly aligning with the current administration at a time many Nigerians continue to express concerns over economic hardship and rising living costs.
As of the time of filing this report, Obi Cubana has not issued any official statement explaining the removal of the posts or clarifying whether he remains actively involved with the organisation.

The City Boy Movement is described as a youth-driven political advocacy and civic engagement platform established to promote the policies and programmes of President Tinubu’s administration. The initiative focuses on grassroots mobilisation, youth empowerment and strengthening communication between government and local communities.
According to information previously released by the group, its activities have included campus outreach programmes, political rallies, food distribution drives and the provision of cash grants and relief materials to vulnerable Nigerians across different parts of the country.
The reported deletion of the posts has continued to generate speculation online, with some observers interpreting the move as an attempt to distance himself from political controversy, while others insist it may simply reflect a rebranding or social media cleanup strategy.
Obi Cubana, widely known for his influence in Nigeria’s entertainment and hospitality sectors, remains one of the country’s most prominent entrepreneurs and social figures, commanding a large following both online and offline.
