AC Milan recall Samuel Chukwueze as Fulham decline buy option
Premier League side Fulham F.C. have reportedly decided not to sign Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze on a permanent transfer following the expiration of his season-long loan spell at the club.
Chukwueze joined Fulham from Italian giants AC Milan last summer in a temporary move aimed at reviving his career after struggling for consistency in Serie A.
However, despite flashes of quality during the campaign, Fulham have opted against activating the purchase option included in the agreement, meaning the Nigeria international will return to San Siro ahead of the new season.
According to reports by Italian outlet Tuttomercato, the London club informed Milan of their decision not to proceed with a permanent transfer for the 27-year-old winger.

During his time at Craven Cottage, Chukwueze made modest contributions for the Cottagers, scoring three goals and providing four assists across all competitions.
While the former Villarreal CF star showed moments of attacking brilliance, he struggled to cement a regular starting role in Fulham’s squad throughout the season.
The winger’s return to Milan now raises fresh questions about his long-term future at the Italian club, where he previously endured a difficult two-year spell after arriving from Villarreal in a high-profile move.
Since joining Milan, Chukwueze has found it difficult to replicate the form that made him one of Nigeria’s most exciting attacking talents during his time in Spain.
Injuries, tactical adjustments and intense competition for places reportedly limited his impact at the Serie A club before the decision was taken to send him out on loan.
Football analysts believe the coming transfer window could prove crucial for the Super Eagles star as he seeks stability and regular playing time ahead of major international competitions with Nigeria national football team.
Although AC Milan are yet to officially clarify whether Chukwueze remains part of their long-term plans, reports in Italy suggest the club may consider fresh offers for the winger during the summer transfer window.
Chukwueze remains one of Nigeria’s most recognizable attacking players in Europe, having built his reputation with impressive performances in La Liga before his move to Italy.
