Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has publicly criticized renowned Hausa musician and political praise singer Dauda Kahutu Rarara, urging him to stop acting as a political stooge and speak honestly about the worsening insecurity situation in the country.

The music star’s comments came amid growing public concern over persistent attacks, kidnappings, and violent crimes across several parts of Nigeria, despite repeated assurances from government officials that efforts are being intensified to tackle the security challenges.

Davido reportedly took exception to remarks attributed to Rarara, a well-known supporter of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu whose songs have frequently been used to promote political campaigns and government achievements.

Reacting to the singer’s perceived defense of the administration, Davido called on Rarara to “fear God” and prioritize the realities facing ordinary Nigerians over partisan loyalty.

The award-winning artiste argued that millions of citizens continue to grapple with fear and uncertainty as insecurity remains a major concern in various regions of the country.

He maintained that public figures should use their platforms to demand accountability and advocate for solutions rather than engage in blind political praise.

His remarks have since sparked widespread debate on social media, with many Nigerians weighing in on the role of celebrities and influential personalities in holding political leaders accountable.

Supporters of Davido praised the singer for speaking out on issues affecting ordinary citizens, arguing that insecurity has become one of the most pressing challenges confronting the nation.

Others, however, defended Rarara’s right to support the government and highlighted ongoing efforts by security agencies to address criminal activities across the country.

As conversations continue online, the incident has once again drawn attention to public expectations that prominent voices in society should use their influence to amplify citizens’ concerns and encourage meaningful action from those in positions of authority.
