Turkish Super Lig heavyweights, Beşiktaş, have reportedly turned down an approach from Dutch giants Ajax Amsterdam for Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi.

Transfer expert Ben Jacobs disclosed that Ajax tabled a proposal structured as a €2 million loan deal with an option to buy valued at €12 million for the Nigerian international.

However, Beşiktaş were not convinced by the offer and have opted to retain the experienced midfielder.

Ndidi only joined the Istanbul-based club last summer after leaving Sky Bet Championship side Leicester City, ending a long spell in English football.

His impact at Beşiktaş was immediate, with the club naming him vice-captain just days after his arrival—an indication of his leadership qualities and importance within the squad.

Sources close to the club suggest that this is not the first time Beşiktaş have rebuffed interest in Ndidi during the current transfer window, underlining their determination to keep the 29-year-old as part of their plans for the season.

The defensive midfielder is currently sidelined as he continues his recovery from an injury sustained while on international duty at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

Despite his absence, Beşiktaş remain confident in Ndidi’s long-term value and are unwilling to sanction a move under terms they deem unfavorable.

Ndidi’s consistent performances and leadership role at club and international level continue to attract interest across Europe, but for now, Beşiktaş appear resolute in holding on to the Super Eagles skipper.
