Man shoots lover dead for scamming him with pregnancy

Abia state police command arrested a man, Ogbonnaya Igwe, in Aba, for allegedly killing his girl friend.
It was gathered that the victim has been milking him of his cash over her pregnancy which he had paid her to abort, a proposal she refused.
Police sources said that the suspect had invited his girlfriend to his residence at N0.22 Obohia road, Aba, where an argument ensued.
He allegedly made for his pump action rifle and shot her dead.
Abia State Commissioner of Police, Mr.Leye Oyebade, told the press men while parading the suspect that they received information that a woman was shot dead at No.22 Obohia road Aba, the information met the deceased in a pool of blood.
He disclosed that the suspect was arrested while hiding inside the ceiling in the house.
When a search was conducted at his apartment, a Pump-Action rifle and double barrel gun
with 15 live cartridges and 4 expended cartridges were recovered.
The corpse of the deceased later identified as Ijeoma Chibuzo was deposited in the mortuary for autopsy while investigation continues.
Despite the allegation levelled at Igwe, he has denied committing the crime but said he has licence for his guns.
