Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer for the election, Prof. Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, announced Adeleke as the winner in the early hours of Sunday.

Ogunwole, who is also the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, made the declaration after the collation of results from the 30 local government areas of the state.

The declaration formally brings to an end the electoral process that saw Adeleke and other governorship candidates compete for the leadership of Osun State.

Adeleke’s victory means the Accord Party candidate has secured the mandate to govern the state following the conclusion of the keenly contested election.
