Police nab serial rapist of underage girls

Policemen attached to Ilasa Division in Lagos have arrested a suspected serial rapist for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl at Osoyintola area of Ilasamaja.
Preliminary investigation, as gathered, revealed that the victim was the sixth minor to be raped by the suspect, identified as Emeka. Emeka, was said to usually lure his victims, whose ages are between five and six years, with sweets and biscuits into bathrooms and toilets, where he rapes them. He met his Waterloo at the weekend, after a tenant caught him in the act with the five-year-old and raised the alarm of rape
One of the neighbours, Tolani Bakare, was gathered to have narrated that “Emeka gave the girl biscuit, took her into the toilet and raped her. “The girl was heard crying. Her elder sister, who was looking for her, heard her voice and started calling her name.

At that point, Emeka was said to have rushed out of the toilet and bolted. The victim told her sister that Emeka had been doing it to her for some time. “That was not the first time he has done such an act. He has done it to five other children between ages five and six, but he would end up begging their parents to forgive him.” Police reject bribe the victim’s mother reported the incident to policemen at Ilasamaja Division, consequent upon which a manhunt was launched for Emeka. National daily gathered that he was arrested at about 10p.m. from his hideout around the area. Police sources alleged that attempts by Emeka’s family members to bribe the Police were rebuffed by the Divisional Police Officer, Superintend Oriyomi Oluwasanmi. Medical report, according to Police sources, revealed that the victim’s hymen had been broken and that there was penetration. Sources further stated that the suspect had been transferred to the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.
