How Unilag 200 level students were roasted to death in hotel inferno

It was a sad end for two students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) as they were roasted to death in a midnight fire at a hotel in Lagos.
The victims, Roli Odugwu, a 200-level Mass Communication student and Linda Elegeonye, a 300-level Law student were residents of Fagunwa Hall, before their death.
National Daily learnt that the deceased died of burns days after they were trapped in the hotel room where they were guests.
It learnt the victims left the school campus on Monday to attend an evening event off campus which they reportedly lodged in the hotel to pass the night since the programme close very late and decided to lodge in the hotel.

According to a friend of one of deceased, who spoke anonymously said her friend had called her mother to inform her that she would pass the night in the hotel since it was already late.
The victims were said to be asleep when the air conditioner in the room developed fault and caught fire before they knew it, the whole room had started burning and got trapped before they were rescued after they’ve had severe burns.
It was gathered that they were rushed to Gbagada General Hospital. Having sustained first-degree burns.
