Heads of agencies Osinbajo appointed refuse to resume
News heads of public institution recently appointed by the federal government disobeyed their paymaster order to resume work following Senate directive that asks them to stay away.
The appointees are Ali Usman as acting chairman of PenCom; Mohammed Isah as chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau, and Bolaji Owasanoye as chairman of ICPC.
On Friday, the presidency, under Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, directed the three to resume work in acting capacity pending their confirmation by the Senate.
The presidency said the directive was to avoid leadership vacuum in important federal institutions.

The Senate, in a statement on Saturday, however, moved against the directive. They asked the nominees to stay away until their nominations are confirmed by the lawmakers in accordance to the laws establishing the agencies.
The executive and the legislature have been in a supremacy war for a while now, with the Senate always stalemating most moves the FG make ti appoints chairmen and heads of its ministry, agencies, and department.
EFCC’s Ibrahim Magu has been presented and rejected twice by the upper chamber.
The Senate President Bukola Saraki however said it is not about individuals. It about the institutions.
