Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus has made a brilliant start to his career in England and has now racked up a remarkable milestone, reaching the 50-goal mark faster than legends like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
The 20-year-old reached the 50 goal mark during his strike against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League, meaning that he has taken 118 games to touch the mark, which spans his appearances for Palmeiras, Manchester City and national team Brazil.
The Brazilian reached the mark six games faster than Messi while Ronaldo needed nearly twice the games to score 50 goals. The Argentinian scored his 50th goal in his 124th appearance for club and country in 2008 while the Portugese star only netted his half-century in his 221st appearances during a game against Portsmouth in 2006.
Jesus also will be gunning for another record when the Citizens play West Bromwich Albion during the weekend, where if City avoid defeat, then he would have gone a year without losing a match that he has played in.
The last time that the Brazilian was part of a losing side was on the 29th of October, 2016 when Palmeiras lost 1-0 to Santos. City manager Pep Guardiola will be hoping that his unbeaten streak continues on the weekend, with Jesus expected to play a prominent role.
