Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State at  the South West Zonal Public Hearing on National Minimum Wage held at LTV Blueroof Arena, Ikeja, Lagos State, under the Chairmanship of  Wale Edun, Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the economy, promised that governors in the zone would work to arrive at a National Minimum Wage that reflects economic realities and in line with available resources.

“Today, I attended the South West Zonal Public Hearing on National Minimum Wage held at LTV Blueroof Arena, Ikeja Lagos state under the Chairmanship of Mr Wale Edun, the Honorable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the economy. Today’s public hearing organized across the six geopolitical zones by the Tripartite Committee on National Minimum Wage inaugurated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (

) is to further engage with stakeholders from various public and private sectors to receive adequate perspectives and recommendations that is valuable to assist the committee in making informed decision.

“n my remarks at the event, I assured the various interest groups, trade unions, civil society and the general public of our commitment to ensure that we arrive at a minimum wage that truly reflects our current economic landscape and addresses the wellbeing of our workforce in line with available resources.
“As the committee proceed to review the outcome of this all important exercise, it is my strong belief that our hardworking citizens both in public and private sectors will earn a minimum wage that truly reflects their hard work, dedication and commitment to the development of our dear country.”
