After surviving removal of 11 bullets, civil servant couldn’t make it
No fewer than 11 bullets were extracted from the body of a civil servant shot by masked gunmen 2.35 am at Sindende guest house in Agege, Lagos recently.
Adenuga Abiodun survived the surgery after he was rushed to LASUTH, but he lapsed into a coma.
According to the guest house staff account, the gunmen traced him to the hotel on October 6, broke his door and shot him.
Other guests heard the shots and came out.
The criminals didn’t shoot them, though, they robbed the frightened guests of their valuables.
They made away with Abiodun’s phone, and an office bag, too.
His relative who were with him during his final moments in hospital explained the incidents
“My brother was the only one that was shot, and they went away with his phone and office bag. We don’t know the kind of documents that were in the bag,” his sister Adebisi said.
“About 11 bullets were removed from his chest and after the operation, he came round two days later. But on Friday, he went into a coma and since then, he never regained consciousness. He died around 9.35am on Monday after several efforts to resuscitate him proved abortive.”
She urged the state police command and the government to ensure justice prevails in investigating the incident.
