Agoye demands players’ seriouness
Head coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan Edith Agoye has challenged his players to develop positive character on the pitch
He also read out a riot act to the players, warning that only those who live up to the billings would make the team this season, while those found wanting could face the exit door.
The former Shooting Stars’ goal poacher, while speaking with the players after their training on Monday, declared emphatically that only players with strong character would be considered for a place in the team
He pointed out that even though some factors worked against the team during the bet9ja NNL Super 8 held recently in Aba, the story could have been different had the players exhibited positive character.
Agreed, we played good football in Aba which was applauded by everybody but good football without good result amounts to nothing.
“As we get set for another shot at the promotion ticket, I want you guys to brace up, have it at the back of your minds that any player that falls short of the expected standard, whether old or new would be dropped”, said the ex Gateway FC of Abeokuta gaffer.
Meanwhile, Esin, as the coach is fondly called, revealed that the team would welcome new intakes in the area necessary so at to fortify the squad ahead of the incoming season
“We will definitely take a look at some fresh legs to beef up the team before the season starts”, he posited.
