Akpabio visits Tinubu at State House after assuming office as Senate President
The emergent President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, on Tuesday, visited President Bola Tinubu at the State House, Abuja, after assuming office as Senate President for the 10th National Assembly.

Accompanying Akpabio on the visit to President Tinubu were Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State and former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano State.
Akpabio was nominated consensus candidate for the senate president by the All Progressives Congress (APC) and was endorsed by President Tinubu before the inauguration of the 10th national Assembly on Tuesday.
At the inauguration of the 10th National Assembly on Tuesday, Akpabio defeated Senator Abdul’aziz Yari to become the Senate President, 63 votes against Yari’s 46 votes.
