Akwa Ibom 2019: APC suffers setback as factional chairman, Ekarika, joins Gov Emmanuel in PDP

The Factional Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State, Dr Udoma Bob Ekarika, at the Monday mega rally at Onna, in Akwa Ibom State, where the Eket endorsed Governor Udom Emmanuel for second term in 2019, dumped the APC and defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for a re-union with the PDP Governor.

APC Deputy State Chairman, Obongifiok Annie Asikpo, who was Director General APC Campaign Organization in 2015, joined Ekarika in defecting to PDP at the mega rally.

Asikpo, at the mega rally, remarked that APC is a party of bad people, but resolved to identify the good people and bring them back to their root in the PDP so they would return to contribute to the development of Akwa Ibom State.

“APC is a party with majority of bad people, but I discovered that there are still very many good people in APC, so, I decided to shake the party and bring every good person back to the PDP,” he had declared.

Dr. Udom Bob Ekarika, at the mega rally, stated that they are back to the PDP to celebrate Udom Emmanuel’s already concluded victory in 2019.

“You cannot change the goal post in the middle of the game. Come rain come shine, Udom Emmanuel will be sworn in come May 29, 2019 because when the will of the people is galvanized for action, no stone or steel can stop it, be rest assured. I am coming from a very useless party and I will tell you more about them when we settle down,” Ekarika had declared.

PDP State Chairman, Obong Paul Ekpo, assured the decampees of guaranteed equal rights and privileges, emphasizing that Governor Udom Emmanuel has been adopted PDP consensus candidate for 2019.

“Welcome back to the home of Victory and prosperity. You are entitled to participate in all activities and benefits herein. We have adopted Udom Emmanuel as sole candidate of the People’s Democratic Party In the state,” Ekpo stated.
